Introduction

WhatDoWeThink?™ is a flexible collaboration app that helps groups think together to act together through a process called Curated Feedback.

Curated feedback is an iterative process of eliciting, organizing, synthesizing and summarizing ideas from a large group. The result of the process is a set of key points that capture the group members' priorities, facts, experience, understanding and common ground.

For example, an organization wants to explore ways to improve the interaction between various departments. The best way to approach this is to get all of the stakeholders to think together about these challenges and opportunities. In our example there are 100 people from various departments that should be part of this process. How in the world can one hundred people think together?

One effective process for doing this is called 21st Century Deliberation (21CD). In 21CD, the 100 people are organized into 14 groups of 7 people with varying backgrounds and experiences. Each small group will deliberate the same question at the same time and submit the ideas most of the group members see as important contributions to the deliberations.

This will typically produce about 200 comments during a 30 minute deliberation. Now we need to make sense of these 200 comments and share the resulting set of key points that capture the group members' priorities, facts, experience, understanding and common ground.

WhaDoWeThink? is the application that helps a group make sense of these 200 ideas and feed the results back to the group to continue the deliberations.
